The Brenner János Primary and Grammar School maintained by the catholic diocese was built from a 2,2 billion HUF EU fund on Tuesday.

At the ribbon cutting ceremony Zoltán Balog minister of human resources recalled: in the past five years more than hundred billion HUF was spent on the development of public educational infrastructure in five hundred schools. Energy investments, sports and information technology upgrades were carried out, science workshops, laboratories were created and new school buildings were built-he reminded.

The minister said that today no one is questioning the meaning and justification of the religious education. In the new era we have to work towards an even better division of labor between the church and state public education and they could also help each other with inner contents.

“We don’t want to raise technocrats but individuals with moral judgement who can put the 21st century knowledge into good use”, like foreing languages, the knowledge and use of digital world but also includes the tradition, patriotism, faith and singing too-declared the minister of human resources.

At the ceremony Csaba Hende minister of defense, Szombathely Fidesz MP-whose children studied at the institute- said thank you as a parent for the church shool’s decades of educational work. András Veres bishop in his speech explained that the new, modern building provides opportunity that “not just the knowledge and the spirit” but also every equipment should be available for educating the children and young people. The bishop blessed the new school, and symbolically handed over the keys to the director of the institution.

To the question of MTI Zsolt Englert the director of the institute said: in the 24 classroom building 485 students can start its studies from September. In the new institute an 8-grade secondary school operates. In the school 600-650 pupils will be studying. Earlier the education took place in two old buildings in need of renovation. In the new building, with more than 8 thousand m2 floor space, amongst others specialized and normal classrooms, gymnasium of 1350 squaremetres and laboratories will be built.
