The first phase of the reconstruction of Audi Hunaria School in Győr was completed, by September 2017 will the educational structure expand in the institute.
The expansion of the Audi Hungaria School has reached its first milestone with the timely handover of the new school buildings: 453 pupils could start the new academic year. By 2017 a new and modern school center will be built in Győr where 650 pupils can learn in the future.
Judit Czunyiné Bertalan secretary for public education at the ceremony on Tuesday said that the most important goal is to see smiling and happy children at schools too, this is why every investment that through cooperation can add something good to the national school system is so important to the government.
She said: the present development is a great evidence of the well functioning cooperation which was born in the last few years between the government and the players of the economy. She added that every development is of a high importance for the government that strengthtens the domestic public educational system in its content and quality.
The politician said that to the costs of the 5 billion HUF development consisting of several phases the European Union and the Hungarian government contributed 1,2 billion HUF.
Zsolt Borkai (Fidesz-KDNP) mayor of Győr called the German Audi factory’s education development activities outstanding. He said that nowhere in Europe has the Audi AG. created an educational structure starting from kindergarten all the way the 12th grade. He added that the company brought a new colour into the country, into the town where the German culture can meet the Hungarian culture in a unique way. The local government of Győr supported the development with 300 million HUF.

Thomas Sigi AUDI AG’s board member responsible for personnel and social affairs. “With the foundation of The Audi Hungaria School we took an important step in this area”-he added.
Helmut Seiler director of Audi Hungaria School said that the institute started out in September 2010 with 58 pupils, they started this academic year with 453 students. In 2013 the German Foreign Ministry recognized the bilingual educational institute as a foreign German school, with it the number of German schools in Hungary grew to three.
