The construction of the three buildings could start after the demolition works. On this occacion 13th July 2017 did the intermediate bodies jointly lay the foundation stone of the new department. The new facililty’s foundation stone was laid by Péter Szijjártó Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Zsolt Borkai mayor of Győr, dr. Peter Kössler chairman of the board Audi Hungaria Zrt., dr. Erzsébet Knáb member of the board and human resources director Audi Hungaria Zrt., Attila Paár executive director of the contractor West Hungária Bau Kft. and dr. Péter Földesi rector.

The total area of the three new buildings is nearly 5000 m2. The Management Campus is going to be another main building of the university, which will also accommodate a restaurant and a bank. In addition to the new packaging testing laboratory a brake pad laboratory will also be constructed and its special feature is that it is going to be connected to the Audi department with a suspension bridge.
The construction is expected to be completed in June 2018 by the construction consortium whose members are the Euro Generál Zrt. and the WHB group’s central company the West Hungária Bau Kft. The contractor emphasized that the investment poses both a logistical and an organizational challenge as the existing packaging testing laboratory can only be demolished after the completion of the new one. Until then the current laboratory has to operate smoothly within the building site.
